DLA Scholarships: Intention

With the hope of promoting a strong and positive concern for the environment, the Deer Lake Association can, when funds are available, donate a scholarship to a graduating student from a local area high school who has been accepted at a college or technical school for a 2 or 4 year program. The scholarship will be given to a male or female who has a strong interest in environmental preservation and plans to major in a field of conservation or environmental science.

Alexander Timm, 2020 DLA College Scholarship Award Winner

Congratulations to Grand Rapids High School Senior Alexander Timm, who was recently awarded DLA's $1000 college scholarship.  Alexander plans to study Fisheries/Biology at Bemidji State University in the fall.

2019 DLA Scholarship Award Update

Meet Grant Anderson, the recipient of the 2019 Deer Lake Association scholarship award:

Grant graduated from Grand Rapids High School and will be attending North Dakota State University. His intended field of study is Agricultural Education, Crop Science, and Soil Science. Grant was the local FFA (Future Farmers of America) chapter sentinel last year and is the chapter Vice President this year. He also received a $500 scholarship from Waste Management and a $300 scholarship from the Jon Rowe (Forestry teacher) Memorial fund. A good start for an ambitious young man!
