Deer Lake FROLIC The Frolic is important to us because it helps to finance the Deer Lake Association. The Association helps to sponsor two scholarships for local high school seniors. It helps finance the flyovers, which helps to identify environmental hazards to the lake, such as dangerous runoff, failing septic systems, and to monitor for invasive species. It also sponsors educational opportunities, such as lectures by biologists, and DNR personal, and don't forget the BBQs, the Book Club, Bridge Club, Golf Club, and lots of other social opportunities.

***** Sixth Annual DEER LAKE FROLIC 2011 The hottest ticket around was for this year's DEER LAKE FROLIC held August 9th 2011 at Camp Hiawatha. 2011 marks the 5th year for this fundraising event. Good food-Good Times and a great chance to meet new people on Deer Lake. This event generated almost $3,200 in additional funds for the Deer Lake Association. These monies are used to help keep the yearly dues low and make it possible for the DLA to give schlorships for local students. Additionally, the DLA is a member of several local non-profits supporting water and lake quality in Itasca County. Hope to see you next year at the DEER LAKE FROLIC!! This year we had the pleasure of having our very own water ski show:
Lots of people enjoyed watching from the shore There were drawings conducted by the DLA President for Door Prizes
Purchases of genuine DLA Boutique items were available And what would any great event have to have to make it complete? Food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ********
