The DLA has provided every member with a free email account. Instructions for use and passwords were included in the April 2008 Newsletter, and sent out again this October, 2008. This is an exciting new tool to keep all our members in touch with one another and the world. Thanks to Doug Widen and Janna Nemeth for getting this established! We hope you all will be proud to have an account called:
The Deer Lake Association needs to make better use of email to speed up communication with its membership while at the same time reducing communication costs (the second largest budget expense item).
We currently have email addresses for approximately 54% of all the lakeshore property owners. But these addresses are subject to change, and every mailing returns about 20% "bounces." Moreover, many internet providers do not allow a mass mailing, thinking it to be spam.
The solution is having the DLA assign an email address to all its members and serve as our own email provider: @DeerLakeAssn.net. This does add another account to your life, but please participate and you will get the latest DLA information, plus be able to use the email account just like any other. Your confidential Account name and secret password were included in the April Newsletter. Or you can contact Doug Widen for a reminder or questions:

We still have the old system in place as we ramp up the new one. If we don't have an current mainstream email address for you, or if what we have is expired (please check the latest Directory which was sent out about a year and a half ago), please send an email with your contact information to Doug.
