HWY 62 Road Clean-Up

ROADSIDE PICKUP: 2025 Season Report, by Paul Lussenhop

On May 30 a group of volunteers gathered to clean up the portion of Hwy. 62 that the DLA maintains. Ten volunteers donated their time and effort to walk the three and a half miles picking up winter accumulated trash.  The result was a cleaner and more attractive roadside! This is one way the DLA contributes to the community. Thanks, volunteers!

The cleanup for our section of Hwy 62 will be scheduled for 2026 soon. We will meet at the Baptist church parking lot on Bass Lake Road and start from there. I will have trash bags, water, and some safety vests. If you have a vest of your own please wear it.

  • We have a section of the highway from Bass Lake Road to Co Rd 233 that we have committed to clean.
  • E mail me at lussenhop@msn.com and I will assign sections in advance.
  • I  will divide it into six sections for assignment to volunteers. If two persons are assigned to each section, it goes pretty quick. I will have a card with your section identified and will also mark the side of the road at the dividing points with a bit of spray paint in advance.
  • After collecting the trash in a bag, leave the bag by the side of the road and I will pick it up. The County will pick it up after I notify them.

After finishing feel free to drop by our house at 33853 Bonnie Point Road for refreshments and conversation.

Thanks for cleaning up the roadway!
